In the heart of Manawatu, amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, there lies a community bound by a shared spirit of generosity and compassion. It's a place where the community look out for one another and share their second hand items for FREE.
What began as a humble cleaning service has blossomed into something far greater, a hub of community connection with new initiatives never seen before.
You see, at Hire A Housewife we believe in the power of giving back, in finding new ways to uplift and support our team and fellow community members, especially during tough times. It all started with a simple idea to share our abundance with our team, which grew into something far greater, Community Collection Extravaganza.
We set out on a mission with Pip from the Egg Project and Fran from Firmly Fit Pilates in Feilding to recycle items that would otherwise be sold and make them available to those who needed them most, free of charge.
As we looked around, we couldn't help but notice the struggles facing many of our community. Times are tough, and for some, even shopping at second-hand stores is out of reach. It was a reality that tugged at our hearts and ignited a spark of determination within us.
Pip and Fran’s unwavering support and enthusiasm fuelled our vision, and together, we embarked on a journey to create something truly special, the Manawatu's first FREE Community Collection Extravaganza.
It isn’t just about clearing out clutter or tidying up our homes. It was about so much more. It was about extending a hand of kindness, offering a ray of hope to those facing hardship, and reminding each other that we're all in this together.
In the end, it wasn't just about the items exchanged or the goods shared. It was about the lives touched, and the collective spirit of generosity from our region.
